FAQs
what exactly are herbal consultations?
Treatments may include a detailed interview, physical examination, an herbal prescription. Dietary and lifestyle recommendations are also available —as adjustments in these areas can significantly amplify the power of herbs.
what is the cost of herbs?
The cost of herbs ranges from $25-60 per week, depending on the treatment goal, nature of the illness and the type of herbs prescribed. Formulas may be prescribed as pills, powders, tinctures or whole herbs to be cooked at home - depending of patient preference.
how often will we meet?
The first follow-up after an initial consultation should be scheduled 1 week after starting the herbal formula. This ensures that prescribed formula appropriately fits the pattern and allows any necessary modifications to be made early in the treatment. How often we meet after the first follow-up is dependent on patient preference and response to the herbs, as well as the severity and complexity of health complaints. Typically, treatment plans will land somewhere between 1 and 3 appointments per month.
how long will treatment last?
This will be discussed in detail during the initial consultation, as it is highly dependent on the nature of the complaint. For example, treatment for acute stress might require only 2 appointments - with instructions to follow up as needed. However, treatment for a combination of chronic stress, acne and premenstrual pain would likely necessitate custom formulas that change as symptoms ebb and flow; this more complex presentation would likely require at least 10 visits / 5 months.
